Life
Update: My wife and I were asked by an national insurance company to be filmed in a series of TV commercials for their national advertising. Spent 3 days in Nashville under the lights and cameras. A terrific experience! End update.
Attended Westlawn Grade School, UMS Military School, Sidney Philips Jr High, Murphy High, Huffstetler's Business College (Accounting), and Southwest State Tech (Electronics).
Joined the Marine Corps and went into aviation. Became a crew chief, then plane captain in a fighter squadron. In 1963, I participated in a Marine Corps publicity event, and set a national record, running 37 miles in 5 hrs and 32 min.
In civilian life, I attended Gordon's Jewelers retail store managers school in Houston, Texas and managed two of their jewelry stores.
My life progressed as a serial entrepreneur. Over the past 42 years...Expand for more
I Owned the Blue Jay Restaurant Inc. (famous crab claws), Mobile Car Coral Inc., The Art Framery (Daphne. AL), Preston Insurance Agency (Nationwide Ins.), and Computer In-Home Services.
Flew as a Private Pilot out of Englund's Flying Service at Bates Field for a number of years and later enrolled in the Commercial Pilot program. My goal was to own and operate a flying shuttle service in the Carribe but that went nowhere.
During my business years I lost all contact with my school friends and would like to see them again. The older I get - the more I think about those early years. Terrific!!
I truly believe our generation is one of the last to possess the wherewithal to lead productive lives of leadership and good role models (with the exception of myself).
I still have all of my hair but I notice a few of you have funny looking heads now!!
